Unfair Competitive Advantage: Minimum Allowed Tariff Set for Major Routes
The Commission has determined that BC Ferries is pricing its drop trailer service on its major routes below cost (as defined by the Commission) and has unfair competitive advantage over other ferry operators who do not come under the regulatory framework of the Coastal Ferry Act, and who are not income tax-exempt. Here are:
- a news release announcing the drop trailer decision
- Commission Memorandum 42 which summarizes and explains key determinations
- Commission Order 11-01 which formally requires BC Ferries to comply with a minimum tariff for its drop trailer service on its major routes.
